This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of (Dyopteris Filix-Mas) as an antibacterial agent particularly to Staphylococcus aureus. Results have shown that oleoresin in the leaves of the fern (Dyopteris Filix-Mas) were tested on cultured staphylococcus aureus shown by the inhibition zones. Ointment were made and were applied to the infected skin of mice. Results shows that the ointment can cure. Staphylococcus aureus infection. Teramycin ointment was used as standard for comparison in our study. The extracts from fresh leaves and stems were subjected to tests and were later compared as to potency with teramycin ointment.
