THE ANTISEPTIC PROPERTY OF EXTRACTS FROM BUNGA (Areca Catecbu) NUTS <br/>THESIS ADVISER: MRS. AILEEN O. CAMANGEG<br/>This study on the antiseptic property of Areca Catheco was conducted at the College of Health Science Laboratory- Mariano Marcos State University, Batac City, Ilocos Norte from June 2001 to September of the same year. This study aimed to determine the activity of the crude and alkaloidal extract from Areca Catheco nuts as an antiseptic agent. The constituent present in the dried nuts of Bunga Areca catechu was found inhibit the growth of microorganism, Staphylococcus aureus. From this study, the extracts of the dried nuts of Areca Catheco could be a potential source of antiseptic agents.<br/> |
