Summary, etc. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY DUNTON, HILDA O. AND TERRENAL, TRICIA C. 2019. Broiler Production in Brgy. Tabug, City of Batac, Ilocos Norte. Practicum Terminal Report. College of Agriculture, Food and Sustainable Development. Mariano Marcos State University, City of Batac, 2906 Ilocos Norte. 30pp. Adviser: Dr. Zenaida H. Esteban The practicum project on broiler production was conducted in Brgy. Tabug. City of Batac, Ilocos Norte from January 22 to March 7, 2019. In general, the project aimed to provide the student-entrepreneurs an actual first-hand experience in the management of broiler production. Specifically, the project aimed to provide a working knowledge and understanding on the operation of a small enterprise both in technical and marketing aspects; determine the profitability of broiler raising as a farm business; provide income to the student- entrepreneurs, and identify the values and skills that were developed during and after the conduct of the project. One hundred (100) heads of broilers were raised in one production cycle. The production management practices followed were based from the Philippine recommends for broiler production. The broiler chickens had a final average weight of 1.5-2.0 kg or a total harvest of 163.4 kg of liveweight for 95 birds. The total cost of production of the project was Php 14,561.91 (TVC = Php 14,384.09 and TFC = Php 177.82.00). The birds offered with commercial feeds had a gross income of Php 21,242.00. The project had a net income that amounted to Php 6680.09. The return of investment (ROI) of the project was 45.87%. The break-even price for live weight was Php 89.11. On the other hand, the break-even yield was Php 112.01 kg. The problems encountered by the student-entrepreneurs during the conduct of project were the hot and cold weather conditions, and fractured legs of the broilers. The values and skills that were developed by the student-entrepreneurs were being patience in cleaning the cages of the broiler chickens and being wise, precise and honest. They also learned that it is important to be friendly to the customers/buyers, and being updated to the existing price of the product.
