THE ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTY OF Mimosa pudica (Makahiya) ROOT EXTRACT AGAINST Staphylococcus Aureus
THESIS ADVISER: MRS. MAGDALENA B. LAGUA
46 pp
This research was conducted to determine the PRESENCE OF ALKALOIDS FROM THE ROOTS OF Makahiya (Mimosa pudica) as an antibacterial agent against Staphylococcus Aureus. Results have shown that alkaloids were present in roots of Makahiya through screening of alkaloids. Alkaloids obtained from the makahiya were tested on cultural Staphylococcus aureus shown by the inhibition zones. It was also found out that the alkaloids root extract are equally effective in treating infected wounds.
