College of Engineering. Mariano Marcos State University, City of Batac 2906 Ilocos Norte. Adviser: Engr. Melwyn P. Pascua Nowadays the increasing demand around the world has become the one of the most common concerns in power sector. Due to this, a ton of research are conducted by several researchers to develop and discover an alternative solution to address this worsening situation. Recently renewable energy sources have become more popular in generating electrical energy. The energy from the sun light can be converted into electricity by means of solar cell/Photovoltaic panel. Among other renewable energies, this is most underutilized mainly because of its low efficiency. One the factors affecting the efficiency of a PV panel or system is the DC-DC converter. This research paper presents the modelling and simulation of a DC-DC buck converter for a solar panel application. This paper shows the proper selection or computation of parameters of the components in constructing a buck converter, to test the design, it was simulated using a software (Ltspice) then obtained the result. |
