THE EFFECTIVITY AND EFFICIENCY OF BOTICA NG BARANGAY IN HEALTH CARE DELIVERY
THESIS ADVISER: MRS. AILEEN O. CAMANGEG
Botika ng Barangay is a program of the Department of Health established in rural barangay to meet the needs of the community people as to health is concerned. The study focuses on the effectivity and efficiency of Botika ng Barangay in Health Care Delivery. Survey was conducted in selected barangay of 13 mucipalities having Botika ng Barangay. Correlation of drugs commonly bought and their availability shows that out of 32 commonly drugs, only 12 drugs are correlated with their availability. Majority of the Botika ng Barangay operates 24 hours a day, monitored by pharmacists and inspected by the Municipal Health Officials every month. Most of the consumer receives information about the drug from the health worker. Dosage is the most frequent information being disseminated. To bring health care services closer to community people, more Botika ng Barangay should be established, with more stocks of drugs be stores. Health workers responsible in drug dispensing in the Botika ng Barangay should undergo further training and seminars to enhance their efficiency in delivery services and further study is recommended including wider scope and other factors contributing to its efficiency and effectivity.
|
