ETHNOBOTANICAL SURVEY OF MEDICINAL PLANTS IN ILOCOS NORTE Adviser: Kristian Gay Y. Dutdut<br/>This study was conducted to determine the uses and preparation of medicinal plants in curing illnesses in Ilocos Norte. Respondents are the users of medicinal plants and Albularyos from municiplaities of Bacarra, Banna, Badoc , Currimao, Dingars, Pagudpud, Paoay, Pasuquin, Piddig, Pinili and Solsona Ilocos Norte. The informants, except the healers, were asked to give their knowledge about the plants they used against a disease, plant part used method of preparation of the remedy, details of administration and the dosage. The researchers used a questionnaire-checklist and unstructured interview as the main tools in gathering the data needed. The data gathered was analysed through a descriptive procedure, frequency counts and percentages. Results show that respondents were mostly middle aged, females, Roman Catholic and housekeepers. The respondents believed that medicinal plants were effective for treating illness and medicinal plants are still widely and practiced <br/><br/>
