Batac 2906 Ilocos Norte. 80pp. <br/>Adviser: Ms. Janelyn Viado Rojas<br/>This study used experimental research using DPPH analysis and In-Vitro Lipid Peroxidation test for antioxidant potential. Triglycerides test, body weight changes and total cholesterol level test were used for the Antiobesity potential. <br/>In the determination of antioxidant potential, two methods were conducted namely 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazil (DPPH) Assay using Lab-labig (Padina crassa), positive control (ascorbic acid) and negative control (DPPH solution) and in in-vitro lipid peroxidation, in which one albino rat was used and was subjected to liver homogenation. The liver homogenate was added to the [T1- Lab-labig (Padina crassa)], [T2-positive control(ascorbic acid)], (T3-distilled water).<br/>In the determination of antiobesity potential, nine (9) albino rats were used and were divided into three groups. Each group were subjected to body weight changes, fat triglycerides test and total cholesterol level test using pure extract of Lab-labig (Padina crassa), positive control (Orlistat) and negative control (distilled water).<br/>The extracts obtained from Lab-labig (Padina crassa) were subjected to phytochemical screening and confirmatory test to identify the active constituents present in Lab-labig (Padina crassa) wherein alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, anthraquinones, protein, fixed oils were found to be present.<br/>Based from the analysis data gathered, the extract obtained from Lab-labig (Padina crassa) has an antioxidant potential but of lesser effect than the positive control (Ascorbic acid) based on the absorbance reading of DPPH Assay. But Lab-labig (Padina crassa) was found to be more effective than the positive control (Ascorbic acid) in inhibiting lipid peroxidation. The Lab-labig (Padina crassa) has antiobesity potential as evidenced by the decreased fat triglyceride level, cholesterol level, and body weight of the high fat fed albino rats. <br/>
