The pypocholesterolemic effect of UBPE was tested to 7 male and 8 female cholesterol induced guneia pigs. The test animals were subjected to the following treatments; First group, UBPE administered at a dose of 0.5ml, 1.0 ml and 1.5 ml. second group, Simvastatin (Zocor) administered at a 0.03 milligram per 100grams of body weight diluted in sufficient water. Third group, with 2 ml distilled water as the negative control. Based from the assay, it was investigated that UBPE is the most effective as hypocholesterolemic agent than the positive control and the negative control.
