A study was conducted to evaluate and provide solutions/recommendations to the pressing problems involving the said system. It is aimed to assess: a) the present water supply system capacities and water availability; b) evaluate the water supply system concerning the "satisfaction rating" of its clientele/consumers; c) determine the water supply and demand of selected buildings of MMSU; d) make an inventory and assessment of the physical facilities of the water supply system (the location of the pumps and rated capacities); and e) determine the operation and maintenance cost analysis of the MMSU Water Supply system as compared to the Prime Water. Pumping test was conducted twice, during the wet and dry season, to characterize the study area's underlying aquifer. Such a test was done to determine the parameters of groundwater characteristics such as transmissivity, specific yield, hydraulic conductivity, storage coefficient, specific discharge, and radius of influence. On the other hand, structured questionnaires were floated to gather information concerning the satisfaction rating on the water supply system. A physical inventory of water system accessories and components was done on the selected academic buildings to assess damaged or defective fixtures. Also, water supply and demand were determined to evaluate the capacity of the water supply system. Finally, the Water Supply System's operation and maintenance cost were estimated for comparison to the Prime Water, a water service provider in the Country. The pumping test result showed that the study area has varying transmissivities and specific yield ranging from 19.309 to 562.223 m /day and 0.021 to 0.396, respectively. It was observed that transmissivity in the western part of the study area was more uniform than the eastern part. The specific yield in the study area was found to have a mean of 0.161. The hydraulic conductivity of the study area was estimated to have 16.397 m/day. The storage coefficient of the study area ranges from 0.024 to 0.315. Also, the mean obtained specific discharge for all test wells is 778.397 m/m-day. The mean radius of influence is around 55m in the study area. In groundwater recovery, the mean recovery rate of the test wells was 0.181 m/day. Generally, the aquifer parameters indicate adequate groundwater supply. Meanwhile, a survey of one hundred sixty-five (165) indicated that water supply in MMSU is rated poor for drinking purposes. Nonetheless, the water supply system of MMSU is acceptable (Satisfactory) for other purposes, such as for irrigation and washing. Water supply is generally adequate throughout the day. The quantity in the wet season can adequately supply the demand. The highest supply was 1,766m /day, while the highest demand was 522.98 m/day. During the dry season, the highest available supply was 768.312 m /day, and the lowest was 357.483m/day. Nevertheless, it was still enough to supply the demand of the selected buildings. The fixture conditions were rated good. Recommendations for improvement of the water supply system were: a) replace the old water pipelines and fixtures; b) installation of drinking fountain; c) water filtration and chlorination; d) immediate replacement of busted fixtures. Cost Analysis showed that an amount of Php14, 334,914.94 was needed to fix and replace all the damaged fixtures and pipes and to build two (2) large water tanks. On tapping the Prime water service, the University may spend an estimated amount of Php654,032 per month, including the charge of wastewater services. It was concluded that tapping the services of Prime Water would improve the water supply of MMSU in terms of quality and efficiency.
