Mariano Marcos State University. May 2019. ALEXANDER POLYNOMIAL AND JONES POLYNOMIAL AS KNOT INVARIANTS OF A TORUS KNOT. Major Adviser: Dr. Michelle D. Reynera. This study served as an introduction to Knot Theory, a branch of Topology. It aimed to: a) obtain visual images of T'(p, q) torus knots using the software called Knot Plot; b) determine the Alexander polynomial and Jones polynomial of T(p,q) torus knots, and c) identify properties of the Alexander polynomial and Jones polynomial of T(7.9) torus knots, where p and are relatively prime. Results of the study show the effectivity, efficiency and properties of the Alexander polynomial and Jones polynomial as knot invariants of a torus knot. 2ddccTHEDIS c15791d15791 00102ddc4070aMMSU_MAINbMMSU_MAINcTHESESd2021-06-15i850l2p850-Thesisr2026-02-12s2026-02-12w2021-06-15yTHEDISzROOM USE ONLY
