Ramchand On-the-Job Training (OJT) is designed to acquire knowledge and experience through practical exposures to projects and programs, develop the students' confidence. and build a healthy competition with others. With this, there were two agencies wherein the student-trainee was deployed and she rendered a total of 560 hours. The student-trainee rendered 280 working hours at the Department of Agriculture-Ilocos Norte Research and Experiment Center (DA-INREC) from January 14 to March 1, 2019. DA-INREC is located in Brgy. Cali, Dingras, Ilocos Norte, and is engaged in the production of small and large ruminants for research and dispersal purposes. The student-trainee was able to enhance her knowledge and skills through hands-on activities in feeding management including mixing of concentrates, feeding of roughages and concentrates, silage making, health management such as vitamin supplementation, antibiotic administration, uterex administration, deworming, blood and fecal sample collection, other husbandry practices such as wool shearing, hoof trimming, ear tagging, forage establishment and management, and waste management. On the other hand, the student-trainee also rendered 280 working hours in Provincial Veterinary Office which is subdivided into three stations namely, Pasuquin Breeding Center, Provincial Veterinary Office, and Animal Quarantine Station. The student-trainee was able to enhance her knowledge and skills through hands-on activities in feeding management, breeding management, sow and litter management, health management such as iron supplementation, hog cholera vaccination, mycoplasma vaccination, and calcium supplementation, waste management, and bokashi production. For the poultry production, the student-trainee experienced egg collection and sorting, incubation process, harvesting newly hatched egg, and marketing of chicks and eggs. The student-trainee experienced preparation for the capitol express, blood collection and swabbing, and vaccinate anti-rabies in the Provincial Veterinary Office. And at the Animal Quarantine Station, the student-trainee participated in the inspection all incoming and outgoing meat, meat by products, processed meat and live animals. The student-trainee learned to be more punctual especially in feeding. Have the commitment to do work, having determination. She also learned how to be more patient, observant, vigilant and honest in socializing with people.
