Lidora The study was conducted to provide general outlook on the marketing of native pig in Marcos, Ilocos Norte. Specifically, it aimed to determine the native pig raisers' socio-demographic profile, economic profile, marketing practices such as product for sale, price, and place/distribution, as well as the problems and issues encountered in marketing of native pig. Thirty (30) native pig raisers in Marcos, Ilocos Norte were interviewed. The data gathered in the interview were analyzed using descriptive statistics like frequency, percentages, means and ranks. The native pig raisers were mostly middle-aged, predominantly female, married and finished high school. Majority of the respondents were member of organizations and they rely primarily in their own experience in raising native pig and some have not attended any related training or seminars, however, there were two who attended training about livestock. Almost all were engaged in native pig raising for one (1) to five (5) years and their primary source of income is farming. On the current inventory of native pig raised, weanling is the most raised and sold type of native pig.In terms of marketing practices, the product for sale was more on weanling. Almost all native pig raisers consider weight as basis for marketing and uses per head basis as method of selling. In connection to the data gathered, almost all the respondent set their price based on liveweight, and the one who sets the price is the owner. Most of the native pig raisers sell their product in their respective homes or places where the pig pens are located. Majority of the buyers are the raisers' neighbor which they prefer size when buying native pigs. Most of the native pig raisers selected size as producer's preference. The main problem of the raisers in terms of marketing, is buyers' preference and few has no buyer. In terms of production, the main problems are high cost of feeds and the occurrence of diseases.
