Guiang The On-The-Job Training Program is a course requirement providing an opportunity to apply the theories, principles and ideas of extension learned in the academe under supervision. These training programs exposed the students to work in realities which will ideally hone their skills and prepare them for the next chapter of life as a professional. The OJT aimed to actualize the theories and principles of extension learned in the classroom. Specifically, at the end of the training, the student will be able to improve the knowledge, attitudes, practices and skills in the conduct of extension activities; develop self-esteem and build self-confidence in dealing with the co- workers/staff and clienteles of extension activities, improve communication and facilitation skills and developed strong foundation in the conduct of extension activities, and experience the real working environment of an agricultural extension worker The student-trainee was deployed to the Mariano Marcos State University- Extension Directorate which is located at Barangay Tabug, City of Batac, Ilocos Norte. The Host Training Agency (HTA) aims to serve the general public through non-formal education and promotional activities to disseminate knowledge-based technical information and to transfer appropriate technologies. It is through extension that the University shares to the general public its intellectual resources of ideas, information, research results generated, and technologies developed. During the stay at the MMSU- Extension Directorate, the student-traince was able to experience the real working environment for an Extension Worker. The student-trainee was able to facilitate and help the staffs on the implementation and conduct of every trainings and seminars that the host training agency conducted, the student-trainee facilitated on the Skills training on mushroom project, Farm management planning-workshop for REB project leaders, Pre-dispersal training of the "fighting COVID with COVEG", Financial Literacy training program for farmers and fishers, Pre-dispersal of goat and glutinous com and Enhancement Training on bamboo production and rejuvenation. The student-trainee also served as a guide during the planting of the Rice paddy art demonstration. The student-trainee assisted on the field conducted by the HTA, the SHIFT Project, Sugarcane Processing and Incubation Project and Bamboo Development Project. The student-trainee also arranged/organized the IEC materials produced by the Host Training Agency and distributed the IEC materials within the province of Ilocos Norte in the Applied Communication section. The student-trainee was able to develop and improve the values of courtesy, obedience, time management, honesty, self-confidence, patience, punctuality, creativity, resourcefulness, being hardworking and initiative that the trainee will be in dealing with extension clients in the near future.
