Agricultural Extension On-The-Job Training Experiences and Accomplishments. College of Agriculture, Food, and Sustainable Development. Mariano Marcos State University, City of Batac 2906. Ilocos Norte. 70 PP Adviser: Mr. Reynold P. Guiang On-the-Job Training is a skills development venue that allows the performance of task related to the course and a chance to execute what has been learned during school days. It is a developmental ground where a student learns how to do the work properly and engage in real life work. It is a training program that exposes the students to work realities which will ideally enhance their skills and prepare them once they get out of the university or college. It can be a potential source of recommendation when they take that big lift from being students to career professional someday. The student-trainee was assigned at the MMSU-Extension Directorate to improve his knowledge and skills in real life work. The MMSU-Extension Directorate diffuses information and technologies to the community people. It aims to serve the general public through non-formal education and promotional activities to disseminate knowledge-based technical information and to transfer appropriate technologies. It is through extension that the University shares to the general public its intellectual resources of ideas, information, and research results generated, and technologies developed. Upon deployment, the student-trance was oriented by the MMSU Extension Directorate on the guidelines of the Office. The student-trainee joined the Directorate in facilitating the conduct of trainings, seminars, field activities, and preparation and distribution of IEC materials. The trainee also performed administrative activities assigned by the supervisor. Through these activities, the student-trainee was able to enhance his communication skills and develop new strategies and skills that made his stay at the MMSU-Extension Directorate a fulfilling and learning-filled experience. The student- trainee also developed his values such as hard work, patience, industriousness, and willingness to work. All these will help him in his future work as an agricultural extension worker ER -
