INITIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF MMSU CARVS PROJECT. Undergraduate Thesis, College of Engineering, Mariano Marcos Mate University, City of Batac 2906 Ilocos Norte, Adviser: Dr. Virgilio Julius P. Manzano This study assessed the initial impact of the MMSU CARES (Coordinate Agribusiness, Research, and Extension Strategies) Project on the farmers who cultivate the fields of the university. Structured surveys and interviews were conducted to collect data from the farmers-cooperators respondents for this study. The findings show that farmers have increased their revenue and crop production through the project initiatives. However, there are still issues and concerns that need to be address. To avoid problems and concerns, farmers must inform the university of their current situation and lot status. They must also inform the institution if they desire to transfer their assigned lot to their sons or other family members. The university should also monitor the farmers every month to learn about their problems and concerns based on their wear records. Also, to avoid the collection of shares in their crop production in an irregular manner. The university should also make an agreement with the farmers to form a stronger collaboration and ensure the project's success.
