An off-grid system was designed and built using a 455W solar photovoltaic panel, 24V lead-acid batteries, a solar charge controller, and a 24V 230W DC water pump. The system was installed at a residential site in Paratong, Paoay, Ilocos Norte to pump water from a well to a 200L storage tank. The performance of the system was evaluated over 10 days through data logging of voltage, current, and water flow parameters. The solar pump effectively filled the residential tank during daytime operation powered by the solar panels, and the batteries allowed limited water pumping during non-sunlight hours. The total cost of the system components and installation was approximately 40,500 Philippine pesos. Cost analysis estimated potential annual electricity savings of nearly 890 pesos by offsetting utility power needs, resulting in a payback period of over 6 13 years for the initial investment based solely on operating savings. While technically viable, the long payback period suggests economic challenges for broad residential adoption without incentives or subsidies. Overall, the study demonstrated the feasibility of solar-powered DC water pumping for residential use but highlighted opportunities to enhance cost-effectiveness ER -
