_aABSTRACT _bAndres, Marievic A., Buduan, Sheila Joy., et al. 1996 : Mariano Marcos State University, College of Health Sciences, Department of Pharmacy, Batac City 2906 Ilocos Norte, the study was conducted to test the antifungal activity of Zingiber officinale showed inhibitory activity against Tricophyton mentagrophytes but inactive on Tricophyton tonsurans. The volatile oil of Zingiber officinale was found to be more active against Tricophyton mentagrophytes taken from tinea pedis than the same fungi taken from tinea corporis. Tha antifungal activity of volatile oil was found to inhibit only the growth if fungi and can not kill them. |
