520 _a ABSTRACT BUTEL NX, CALAD A, JURIAL S, RAMOS CK, SIMON RJ, TUMAMAO MJ. Mariano Marcos State University. May 2021. Effect of Klapp's Exercise through Telerehabilitation on the Health-Related Quality of Life of Patients with Scoliosis. Adviser: Prof. Ryan Dean T. Sucgang Scoliosis can significantly affect the quality of life of an individual unless adequate treatment is provided promptly (Lee et al., 2016). Amidst the pandemnic, telerehabilitation has been emerging as a sufficient distance physical rehabilitation therapy. Thus, this study determined the effect of Klapp's exercise delivered through telerehabilitation on the health-related quality of life of patients with scoliosis. This study used a one-group pretest-posttest design. It determined the difference between the pre and post conditions of participants in terms of; level and quality of pain, degree of lateral curvature, and health-related quality of life. There are ten (10) participants aged 19-30 from the City of Laoag and Batac, Ilocos Norte. Results of the study revealed that the level and quality of pain shows no significant difference from pretest to posttest. However, the degree of lateral curvature of the spine of the participants has decreased from pretest to posttest. Moreover, the scores of the participants in the QLPSD have decreased from pretest to posttest indicating improvement in the health-related quality of life. Furthermore, the participants strongly agreed that Klapp's exercises can be delivered through telerehabilitation. Therefore, Klapp's exercises delivered through telerehabilitation can improve the health-related quality of life of patients with scoliosis, given the patients have a good internet connection, appropriate gadgets, consistent monitoring, and expert instructions for the intervention from the therapists. Keywords. Cobb angle, degree of curvature, health-related quality of life, Klapp's exercise, pain, satisfaction, scoliosis, telerehabilitation
