Morales This study was conducted at different tributaries of Padsan River namely; Station I at Barangay San Marcos, Station 2 at Barangay Medina, Station 3 at Barangay Albano, and Station 4 at Barangay Guerrero from January to February 2021. It aimed to: 1) determine the physico-chemical parameters of the river; 2) determine and document the species diversity of vertebrates caught in the river; 3) determine and document the anthropogenic activities in the different stations, and 4) correlate the physico-chemical parameters to the species diversity of vertebrates in the river. The observational research design was used in the study. This method was used to determine the physico-chemical characteristics and the Fish Aggregating Devices with 4 x 4m size was established in different stations to determine the species in the area. The result of the study showed that physico-chemical parameters had no significant relationship among water quality parameters. But temperature had negative significant relationship to the species diversity at 5% level. A total of eight species caught during the two-sampling period namely, Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus): Cat fish (Clarias macrocephalus); Goby Fish (Valencienna Avers 1: Mullet (Magilidae): Fel (Anguilla luconensis); Goby fish (Valencienne longis 2). Mud fish (Neochanna); and Croker (Micropterus salmondes). Station 4 is the highest diversity index with a mean of 1.32. The most diverse and warmest temperature among all sampling stations Between the two-sampling periods. The first sampling period has the higher diversity index than the second.
