Bagasani The study was conducted to determine the prevalence of using unprescribed contraceptives among adolescent women of Ilocos Norte and to know if there is a relationship between the use of unprescribed contraceptives among adolescent women of Ilocos Norte and to know if there is a relationship between the use of unprescribed contraceptives and socio-demographic profile such as age, civil status, educational attainment, family background, family income and religion; background on sex education; environmental factors like family influence, peer/group/friends, classmates, type of school and others. A total of 530 respondents from the eight towns of Ilocos Norte were randomly selected using proportional allocation. A self-administering questionnaire was used in respondents from the eight towns of Ilocos Norte were randomly selected using proportional allocation. A self-administering questionnaire was used in gathering data. Descriptive survey was used to determine the prevalence of using unprescribed contraceptives among women of 15-24 years old in Ilocos Norte Correlational analysis was also used to find out the relationship of the socio-demographic profile of respondents and the use of unprescribed contraceptives. Results showed that 60.4% of the respondents are using while only 39.65% are not. Correlational analysis showed that only the environmental factors like family, peer/groups/friends, classmates, midwife, husband and boyfriend affects the use of unprescribed contraceptives. The other factors didn’t establish a relationship.
